Weather Forecast: Mixed weekend as cooler air settles in

Our weekend starts with a noticeably cooler feel. Highs Saturday will be lucky to touch 50 degrees as popcorn downpours develop, particularly in the heating of the afternoon. Coverage of these downpours will remain isolated to scattered, but healthier cores will be able to take advantage of colder air aloft to support some small hail or graupel into the afternoon.

Temperatures Saturday night will drop close to freezing, supporting some frost and a reason for gardeners to take precautions if you’ve gotten the garden going a little early. Sunday should feature a good amount of sunshine with highs climbing into the lower 50s. Once again, we should drop down through the 30s Sunday night into Monday morning.

Next week starts quiets with rain chances returning toward midweek, more overnight cold late week.
