Had enough of gun violence? Wear orange and join us June 9. Over the past decade, gun deaths increased by 38% in the US. In 2020, firearms became the number one cause of death for children and teens in the US, surpassing car accidents. Last year, Portsmouth schools were closed when a man threatened Portsmouth High School with an arsenal of weapons in his car. In October, our neighbors in Lewiston, Maine suffered a mass shooting when 18 people, who were out bowling on a Wednesday night, were killed by one person with weapons. Gun violence affects us all.
