Opening set for Minnesota's second Ruth's Chris Steak House

Fine dining restaurant Ruth's Chris Steak House will officially open in Rochester next month.

The upscale steak house is set to open Monday, June 17 in downtown Rochester's iconic Kahler Grand Hotel.

With more than 150 locations globally, Ruth's Chris Steak House bills itself as the largest collection of fine dining steak houses in the world.

The Rochester restaurant will be led by General Manager Gena Cadman and Executive Chef Mitchell Chase and create around 80-100 new jobs.

"Our founder, Ruth Fertel, believed that the experience of dining at an upscale steak house shouldn't be intimidating," Cadman shared in a news release "Our team can't wait to give a warm welcome to guests and introduce our community to the incredible service and signature steak cuts that Ruth's Chris is famous for."

The restaurant's menu offers a variety of premium steaks prepared using a patented broiling method, as well as fresh seafood, family-style sides and more.

Steaks are served sizzling on a 500-degree plate, "so the last bite is just as good as the first," according to a news release.

The new 9,180-square-foot restaurant, which includes a patio and space for private events, will be only daily for dinner, with hours Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., Friday from 4 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. and Saturday from 5 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.

Ruth's Chris Steak House is also found in downtown Minneapolis.
