Troy student eliminated from Scripps National Spelling Bee in semifinal round
A Troy middle school student was eliminated from the Scripps National Spelling Bee Wednesday night, May 29, in a seminfinal round. Aryan Khedkar, 13, an eighth-grader at Baker Middle School in Troy, was one of 16 spellers remaining when the eighth round began .He misspelled “drusen,” small deposits of material that build up in the eyes.
