KEARNY — Two dog owners are facing charges after a loose pit bull attacked and severely injured a Yorkshire terrier. Police say Joel Perez, 43, was walking his dog on Elm Street in Kearny near the high school around 11:20 p.m. on March 18 when the pit bull pounced, News 12 New Jersey reported. MAYWOOD, NJ – The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the suspicious death of Maywood Police Sergeant Jason Y. Liaban. Liaban was found dead at around 2:30 am this morning. Maywood and Hackensack police officers investigating the shooting determined the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.
