St. Aug ‘Marching 100’ returns to New Orleans after performance in Normandy
A momentous cheer engulfed the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport as members of the St. Augustine High School "Marching 100" band stepped off the plane and into the arms of their loved ones for the first time since the start of their week-long trip to Normandy.
Metairie man leads LSU student body, and other college news
LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY: Metairie resident V. Joseph Liberto, a sophomore at LSU, was recently elected student body president. He attended St. Catherine of Siena, Christian Brothers School and Jesuit High School, where he served as student body president in 2022. He is the son of Evelyn and Vincent Liberto of Metairie.
Nunez Welcomes First Alum Commencement Speaker at 32nd Commencement Ceremony
Nunez Community College celebrated 387 graduates May 16 at the Sigur Civic Center in Chalmette during the college’s 32nd Commencement Ceremony. This year’s ceremony marked the first time that a Nunez alum served as commencement speaker as celebrity chef, author and 2014 Nunez Culinary graduate Chef Toya Boudy addressed graduates and guests.

Education – Homeless Student is High School Valedictorian
From a New Orleans homeless shelter to the top of his high school class, Elijah Hogan, 19, has overcome incredible challenges in his young life. Hogan recently graduated as one of the valedictorians at Walter L. Cohen College Prep, despite spending over a year living in a homeless shelter for youth.
