ADULT SOCCER

The Adult Indoor Soccer League will be a competitive league playing at the Cecil Arena. It is a coed 6v6 league. Rosters, with a signed waiver for each player, and $200 registration are due before teams will be scheduled. The Team Captain/Representative must COMPLETE the Adult Soccer League Waiver/Roster Form online before submitting payment. There will be one ultimate league that takes place. Teams will also pay ref fees of $20 per game given to staff on-site. If your team cannot make your scheduled game, and did not give a timely notice your team will have to pay for the refs time. If interested in registering a team, contact P&R by emailing, Alexis Burch at aburch@cecilcountymd.gov. No individual registration allowed; all players must have a team.

OPEN ADULT SOCCER

CCPR has open soccer every Wednesday Night, at the Cecil Arena, from 8pm to 10pm. $5 a person. Bring your whole team or come by yourself and join in on the fun! Open soccer is for ages 16 and up.

TENNIS, YOUTH BEGINNER (M/W)

Beginner tennis will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-6pm at the Rising Sun Community Center Tennis Courts. Basic instruction in ground strokes, proper racquet control, body positioning, service and game play. 8 classes/$100.00. Class starts April 29th.

TOTAL BODY BURN-MORNING

This 1 hour total body workout combines a variety of body weight and strength training exercises in an interval format to maximize the calorie burn. Modifications will be provided to encourage all fitness levels to reach their goals and feel successful. Participants are encouraged to bring a mat. Class will be held twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30am — 10:30 am starting Tuesday, April 30th. Total Body Burn will take place at the Rising Sun Community Center (17 Wilson Rd, Rising Sun, MD 21911). This class is 4 weeks long with a total of 8 classes for $42. This program offers a drop in option of $7 per class.

TENNIS, ADVANCED (T/TH)

Advanced tennis will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6pm at the Rising Sun Community Center Courts. Basic instruction in ground strokes, proper racquet control, body positioning, service and game play. 8 classes/$100.00. Classes start April 30th.

ARCHERY (PVMS)

Archery Club will be offered for 6th-8th graders looking to learn the basics of archery using compound bows through NASP. Archery will be a 5 week program on Wednesdays from 3:00pm — 4:00pm at PVMS, May 1 — May 29. Cost will be $32. Registration ends April 29th.

SCAVENGER HUNT & OPEN PLAY

Eye Spy with my little eye…. But with a twist!! Come join us Thursday mornings in May for a scavenger hunt and open play for children ages 2-6! Each day will have a new scavenger hunt theme as well as open play set up inside the arena. Weather permitting, the scavenger hunt will be set up outside behind the arena. Bring your friends and move at your own pace! Open play at the Cecil Arena provides access to balls, building blocks, tunnels, a bounce house, and more. The scavenger hunt and open play are optional and can be done in whatever order you choose. Parents must stay and accompany children. The program will be May 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd from 10am — 12pm. The cost for all four sessions will be $20. Drop-ins are welcome for $10.

FARMERS MARKET

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The “Market Set-up Payment” program is only for those who are approved to be a farmers market vendor by Cecil County’s Farmers Market Manager salexander@cecilcountymd.gov.

Cecil County’s Farmers Market Location will be at the Cecil Arena parking lot on Saturday, May 4th from 9 am to 1 pm. (8:00am — 9:00am set up time, and 1:00pm-2:00pm pack-up time). This $10 fee only covers the cost of the pop-up farmers market. There are plans to host more farmers markets in the future and you will have to pay again for each day the farmers market occurs, etc. For more information, please contact salexander@cecilcountymd.gov.

MOTHER’S DAY ZUMBA

What a great gift idea, spend an hour with mom at a Mother’s Day Zumba Class! Zumba is a fun, aerobic fitness class that gets your heart rate up through movements inspired by Latin American dance. Instructor, Danielle Ford will lead a Special Mother’s Day Zumba class on Friday, May 10th from 6:00pm-7:00pm at the Rising Sun Community Center. Cost of the program is $15. Registration ends May 9th.

DROP IN VOLLEYBALL-OUTSIDE AT BARD CAMERON

Cecil County Parks and Recreation will be offering a Wednesday night Volleyball Drop In at Bard Cameron from 6-9 pm, starting Wednesday, May 15th . Cost of the drop in is $5 per person or you can purchase access to all 8 sessions for $20. Online registration is not accepted for daily drop in but is accepted for full session purchase. Ages 16 and over.

SENSORY CLASS (MAY 18TH)

Sensory Class is designed for our youngest of friends (8 months — 18 months)! The purpose of the program is to introduce your child to new feelings and senses. There will be two activities, one “messy” followed by one “clean”. Class will be held at the Rising Sun Community Center from 10:45am-11:15am on May 18th. Please come dressed for a mess as clothes will most likely be stained. A change of clothes is encouraged. Registration ends May 17th.

WELCOME TO PICKLEBALL

Cecil County Parks and Recreation will be offering a Pickleball clinic for beginners. This clinic will be focused on learning the game of pickleball. It is designed for players that are new to the game.

FIELD HOCKEY SUMMER CLINIC (GRADES K-8)

Cecil County Parks and Recreation, in conjunction with Sun Field Hockey, will be offering a Field Hockey Skills Training Clinic for boys and girls in grades K-8. The program will be held at the Calvert Regional Park turf field on Tuesdays. The first half hour will focus on skills and drills, with the second half hour devoted to game play. The program will be 8 weeks long, May 28 — July 16. Cost is $35 per player. Players must provide their own equipment (sticks, mouth guards and shin guards). Check our website for age groups and play times. Registration ends May 27th.

FIELD HOCKEY SUMMER LEAGUE (HIGH SCHOOL)

Cecil County Parks and Recreation will be hosting a Summer High School Field Hockey League this summer for players entering grades 9-12. Games will be played at Calvert Regional Park turf field on Tuesday nights from 6:25pm-7:25pm. Games will be 8v8 on a short-sided field and 25 minutes in length. The league will run for 8 weeks, May 28-July 16. Players will register individually. No team registration. League cost will be $60 per player, this includes referee fees for the season. Players must provide their own equipment (sticks, mouth guards and shin guards). Registration ends May 27th.

FIELD HOCKEY SUMMER LEAGUE (ADULT)

Cecil County Parks and Recreation will be hosting an Adult Field Hockey League this summer for players ages 18 and up. Games will be played at Calvert Regional Park turf field on Tuesday nights from 7:40pm- 8:40pm. Games will be 8v8 on a short-sided field and 25 minutes in length. The league will run for 8 weeks, May 28 — July 16. Players will register individually and be randomly placed on teams. No team registration. League cost will be $60 per player, this includes referee fees for the season. Players must provide their own equipment (sticks, mouth guards and shin guards). Registration ends May 27th.

HIGH SCHOOL CHEER-NORTH EAST

Cecil County Parks and Recreation will be hosting a High School Cheer Program at NEHS to work alongside the 7v7 Football Passing League this summer for cheerleaders in grades 9-12. Games will be played at NEHS and RSHS each Wednesday evening, starting June 5th from 6pm-9pm. The program will run for four weeks. There will be two practice nights on Tuesday, May 28th and Monday, June 3rd from 4pm-6pm at North East High School. Individual registration only, no team registration. Cheerleaders must register online (no in-person registrations at the site). Each cheer team must have a coach on the field. League cost will be $20. Registration deadline is May 27th.
