Savannah's first public fitness zone opens at Summerside Park
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Savannah’s first public fitness zone is officially opened. The city celebrated the opening with a ribbon cutting at Summerside Park Saturday. The new state-of-the-art fitness zone has 11 outdoor exercise stations similar to what you’d see in a gym. That includes things like a chest press, lat pulldown, balance board, leg press, and an accessible hand cycle just to name a few. District 5 Alderwoman Estella Shabazz shared that the push for this project, really came from local residents.

Genesis Foundation grants $50,000 to Loop it Up Savannah for school art programs
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTGS) — An interactive educational art program for kids is receiving a $50,000 grant. The Genesis Foundation presented a check to loop it up Savannah at the Ships of Sea Maritime Museum today. The money will go towards funding for 40 schools and multiple early learning centers.

Savannah Rep To Present World Premiere of Lee Osorio's PRISONTOWN
Savannah Rep will present the world premiere of Prisontown, written by and starring Lee Osorio. Prisontown first received developmental support from the Alliance Theatre’s Reiser Atlanta Artists Lab and has been through several workshops and staged readings before the final workshop production in 2023 through the New Orleans Tennessee Williams Festival. This production is directed by Lauren Emily Morris and will open on Friday, May 10th and run through Sunday May 19th.
