BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Ridgecrest man is facing charges including attempted murder after he allegedly hit his girlfriend then stabbed her 19-year-old son.

Marquette Spencer, 41, has pleaded not guilty to all charges in Tuesday’s attack and is being held without bail, according to Superior Court records. He’s due back in court next week.

According to Ridgecrest police, Spencer hit his girlfriend in the face on South Valley Street. Her son then fought Spencer, first in a yard and then in a garage. Police said Spencer stabbed the son 11 times during the second fight.

The son survived.

Peterson fled and was later found in San Bernardino County, where he led officers there on a chase in which his vehicle reached speeds greater than 110 mph, police said. His vehicle became disabled and he ran but was caught, police said.
