Eddie Strada Pockets $5,000 With Big Diamond Victory

Expect dense fog in Pennsylvania Monday morning
The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 6:02 a.m. on Monday for dense fog until 9 a.m. for Carbon, Monroe, Berks, Lehigh, Northampton and Bucks counties. "Patchy dense fog has developed across the region. Early morning motorists should be prepared for rapid drops in visibility over short distances when driving around the region. Fog should break up toward mid-morning," says the weather service.

Separate Richland warehouse plans proceed
At the May 13 board of supervisors meeting, Richland Township approved two properties zoned Rural Agricultural (RA) to be changed to Planned Commercial (PC). The move was understood to allow for further development of a warehouse proposal that had originally called for seven properties to be similarly changed, toward a much larger warehouse.

Cornwall residents upset about lawn maintenance violation notices
Cornwall Borough residents addressed council members about notices of lawn violations. Sean McCarrick told council he received a letter on May 9 from the borough's contracted zoning enforcement officer Jeff Steckbeck saying his property along Rexmont Road was in violation of the borough's ordinance relating to weeds and grass. The grass on the right-of-way part of McCarrick's property had not been cut, due to a temporary shoulder injury.
Lebanon officials eye state funds to improve public defender's office, hire social worker
Lebanon County officials are looking to use state funds to hire a social worker for the public defender's office clients. Lebanon County Commissioners unanimously approved applying for $95,501 in state funds allocated for the county as part of the Indigent Defense Grant Program. The statewide grant program provides funds designed to expand support and resources to public defender offices.
