Project Bulletin, September 21, 2026: Cameron Parish, Louisiana; Hyderabad, India; West Harrison, Indiana

Louisiana-based energy infrastructure company Black Bayou Energy Hub has revealed plans to expand its Lafayette headquarters, while introducing new critical natural gas infrastructure over 100 miles southwest in Cameron Parish. The $1.6 billion investment is designed to strengthen the state’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) corridor, in turn meeting rising demands from LNG exports, power generators, manufacturers and utilities. “More than $48 billion in LNG projects have been announced in Louisiana since 2024, and investment at that scale creates demand for the infrastructure and businesses needed to support it,” said Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Susan B. Bourgeois. “Black Bayou Energy Hub is a direct result of that momentum and an investment in sustaining it. This project strengthens the natural gas infrastructure that will serve major projects already underway while increasing Louisiana’s capacity to compete for what comes next.” Centered on the Black Bayou salt dome in Cameron Parish, the company’s new natural gas infrastructure will extend into nearby Calcasieu Parish to provide blending, balancing, storage and transportation services to LNG exporters and more. Construction is slated to begin in 2026 with full completion expected in 2028. Meanwhile, Black Bayou Energy Hub’s HQ expansion will support its long-term administrative, engineering and operational duties.
