BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – A Culver woman was arraigned Wednesday on 26 misdemeanor charges, including DUII, assault and reckless driving, accused of running a Redmond stop sign last month and crashing into the side of a small school bus carrying 14 Baker County Future Farmers of America students, in town for a state convention.

Three students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after the crash on Friday night, March 22 on state Highway 126 (Highland Avenue) and the intersection with SW Helmholtz Way, where Oregon State Police said she ran a stop sign. The collision with the SUV sent the school bus crashing off the highway’s eastbound shoulder and down into a ditch.

Katrina Nicole Dacus, 34, is charged with 26 Class A misdemeanors, including eight counts of fourth-degree assault, 15 counts of recklessly endangering another person and single counts of DUII, reckless driving and second-degree criminal mischief. She is scheduled to enter a plea on June 3, court records show.

The charging document alleges Dacus was driving with a measured blood alcohol level of at least .15 percent, nearly twice the legal limit of .08.

At her arraignment, Deschutes County Circuit Judge Alycia Herriott set Dacus’s security at $10,000, for which she was to post $1,000 for release, and ordered that she be placed on an alcohol electronic monitoring device and not consume alcohol, frequent bars or have any contact with several individuals, including the school bus driver.
