Festivities leading up to Kool April Nites weekend continue Thursday, April 25, with two cornhole tourneys, and show and shines — most with barbecues and music — at five Redding businesses.
Evening events include the 19th annual Redding Chamber Show and Shine and Mixer.
Compete, or watch and cheer on your favorite champion, at the second annual Kool April Nites Cornhole Tournament: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Redding Civic Auditorium, 700 Auditorium Drive in Redding.
The "bags fly" promptly at 5:30 p.m.," Kool April Nites event planners cautioned.
Cornhole players score points in the lawn game by throwing bean bags into a hole in a raised board. Cash prizes for first through fourth places total $1,000. Cost to play is $40 per person. Go to koolaprilnites.com/events/cornhole-tournament to register.
The cornhole also includes food and music, according to event planners.
Simpson University also hosts a cornhole game at it's show and shine on Thursday evening.

Show and shines happening in Redding on Thursday April 25:

- Crown Motors and Redding Chamber 19th annual Mixer and Show and Shine from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 555 Cypress Ave. The Redding Chamber of Commerce's annual Kool April Nites mixer includes a no-host bar, live music by North State band Bartosh, and tasting stations from 18 Redding restaurants.
