Bellefontaine Parks Superintendent Kris Myers was, according to Shannon, “instrumental in making this happen.” Reed grew most of the plants, including milkweed, Joe Pye weed, zinnias and fennel. The club donated fragrant sumac and black chokeberry shrubs. “It was really windy, but the start of our butterfly garden is planted,” Shannon said with satisfaction. The group plans to sell flower arrangements during performances of My Fair Lady at the Holland Theatre the weekend of June 14-16 to raise money for the garden. (SUBMITTED PHOTO)
