Hillsboro man doesn’t regret serving in Vietnam War
Hillsboro’s Wayne Kreutzinger joined the National Guard in McPherson right out of high school. “We no more went through basic training and everything there in ’66 or ’67 and we got called up. We went out to Fort Carson, CO and then I volunteered to go to Jungle School in Panama since the only thing you had to do in Colorado was smoke cigarettes and drink beer,” said Kreutzinger.
Parkside Homes to host community health night on May 23
Community Health Night at Parkside will focus on fall prevention for all ages at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 23. Summit Care will provide an informational discussion with an activity and strategies to help in daily activities. New state forfeiture laws will not affect deputies
Recent legislative changes will not impact the asset forfeiture practices at the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department. “Looking over the new legislation, there are no changes that we were against and nothing that changes our procedures and how we have been doing asset forfeiture over the past several years,” said Andrew Toolin, a detective with the Drug Enforcement Unit.
Swim team places at State Swim Championships
The Marion-Centre-Hillsboro coop swim team participated in 5-1A Girls State Swim Championships on May 17 and 18. “I am extremely proud of all of the girls that competed this weekend at state.
