Abilene is adding to its “World’s Largest” collection by adding a button. The Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau is organizing the creation of the World’s Largest I Like Ike Button. The button will debut sometime in June, said Julie Roller Weeks, director of the bureau.

The 2024 spring seasons for high school sports across the state of Kansas has now entered the postseason and league champions have been decided. The Abilene Cowboy baseball team won the 2024 North Central Kansas League baseball championship with a 20-2, 10-0 record while the Wamego Lady Raider softball team won the NCKL softball title with a 20-4, 10-0 record.
HPL has new collection of children’s books
Hillsboro Public Library has received a gift of 100 new children’s books ranging from pre-kindergarten through early readers, including board books. This donation is from Brownstone Book Fund, a private foundation in New York City, interested in fostering early reading, a love of books and encouraging parents and children to read together. Come visit HPL to explore and enjoy this new collection.
Boldt signs with Baker University

Dawson Boldt signs to play baseball at Baker University next year. He plays shortstop, center field and pitches for the Trojans. A two-sport standout, Boldt also played quarterback, leading the Trojans with over 1,800 passing yards and 18 touchdowns. Boldt plans to study Business Administration.
