Robert C. Byrd Clinic Hosts Cardiac Clinic for Student Athletes

LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) – Are you a student athlete gearing up for the new season? Get ready to hit the field, court, or track with confidence! Don’t miss the FREE Student Athlete Cardiac Clinic held in collaboration with several local providers on Saturday, May 4 from 9am to 12pm at Rainelle United Methodist Church (617 Kanawha Ave, Rainelle, WV 25962).

This important event will provide student athletes with an EKG (Electrocardiogram) and a blood pressure check.

Who should attend?

This free clinic is open to all student athletes in the community. Early detection of any potential cardiac issues is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of young athletes.

Meet the Team:

The Student Athlete Cardiac Clinic will be staffed by experienced healthcare professionals, including:

• Lori Cooper, APRN, CNP: A board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in primary care.
• Larry Rhodes, MD: A board-certified pediatric cardiologist affiliated with WVU Medicine.
• David Allen, DO: A board-certified osteopathic physician specializing in family medicine.
