Ensor, Queen Anne's reach 2A state semis
PASADENA — Junior RJ Ensor scored six goals and set up a seventh, and Riley Klepper added a hat trick Wednesday, leading Queen Anne’s County High’s girls lacrosse team to an 11-6 victory over No. 3 seed Chesapeake-Anne Arundel in a Class 2A state quarterfinal. The sixth-seeded Lions (14-2) move on to play second-seeded Stephen Decatur in a 2A state semifinal Friday at 6 p.m. at Kent Island High. Baillie Pinder had one goal and three assists for Queen Anne’s and Kaisa Hickson scored once.
New skatepark construction underway in Queen Anne's County
The Department of Parks and Recreation, alongside the County Commissioners, are excited to announce the construction of a new skatepark. The skatepark will be located in Stevensville on Cockey Lane behind Business Parkway and promises to be a dynamic addition to the recreational amenities of Queen Anne’s County. ROCK HALL — After receiving updated funding figures from Superintendent Karen Couch, the Kent County Board of Education on May 6 approved the proposed fiscal year 2025 budget by a 3-1 vote. QUEENSTOWN — The American Legion Benedict A. Andrew Post 296 in Queenstown, including the Ladies Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion, recently donated $16,000 to the Veterans Affairs (VA) Maryland Health Care System for the benefit of veteran patients throughout the state.
