Man sought in attempted sexaul assault in West Loop
CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago police are searching for a man in connection to an attempted sexual assault in the West Loop.Police say on April 14, a 35-year-old woman was walking northbound on Carpenter Street from Randolph Street when she was approached from behind by the suspect. He grabbed the victim by the waist and put his hands over her victim's mouth before dragging her to an alley.She was able to bite the suspect's index finger causing him to throw her to the ground. He then ran southbound on Carpenter Street and Eastbound on Randolph Street.Police said a camera caught the man following the victim. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man between 30 and 35 years old with short hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white and green windbreaker. CHICAGO (CBS) — A man was robbed and carjacked Wednesday evening by a person riding a scooter in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. Chicago police said the 25-year-old victim was inside his car before 6:30 p.m. in the 900 block of North Sacramento Boulevard when an unknown male on the scooter approached him, displayed a firearm in his waistband, and demanded the victim's belongings and car. Man, teen shot, critically hurt inside South Shore apartment, police say
CHICAGO (CBS) — Two people were shot inside an apartment in the South Shore neighborhood Thursday night.The shooting happened just before 11:30 p.m. inside an apartment in the 7400 block of South Kington Avenue. Chicago police said that two other people went into the apartment and began shooting at the victims. An 18-year-old man was shot in the left side of the jaw and right arm, and a 17-year-old boy was shot in the right side of the head and cheek. Both were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. CPD said that a rifle was recovered at the scene.No arrests were made.Area 1 detectives were investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

CHICAGO (CBS) — One person died after a house fire in Bronzeville Thursday night. Smoke was seen pouring from the house, in the 3600 block of South Giles Avenue just after 11:20 p.m.According to police, a woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with smoke inhalation in critical condition. She later died at the hospital. Police said the fire was accidental and started in the basement.
