Friday marked one year since Isabelle Parr, 21, was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Provo. Police are asking for help to find the driver responsible for her death.

PROVO, Utah (ABC4) — Two officers suffered injuries and a suspect was taken into custody after an overnight pursuit in Provo early Friday morning, Dec. 1. The pursuit started around 2:30 a.m. near 300 South and 500 West when officers attempted to stop a car allegedly not displaying a license plate. According to Provo Police Department spokesperson Janna-Lee Holland, the car did not stop and began to “drive recklessly” in an attempt to flee. Holland said the attempt to pull the car over was quickly stopped for safety reasons.

This week in Utah County, Utah, there were two incidents involving violence. In the first incident, a man was sentenced to prison for killing another man in a road rage incident. The second incident involved a woman being arrested for stabbing a man in a domestic violence assault.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 1, 2023 (Gephardt Daily) — Two men were sentenced to federal prison Thursday for robbing and assaulting a Salt Lake City mailman. “Nathan Suaste, 20, of West Valley City, and Lorenzo Saavedra, 20 of Saratoga Springs, were each sentenced today after they pleaded guilty to using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence,” according to a Thursday press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Utah.

Armstrong stressed the need to check smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector batteries twice a year. On the Friday after Thanksgiving, a car crash on Highway 40 on the east side of Strawberry Reservoir ended with the death of two people. A driver and a passenger were in a Honda Accord heading west, and another driver in a Dodge Ram was headed east when he “lost control and spun across the westbound lane,” said Sgt.
