PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — WaterFire will soon return to downtown Providence.

This year, WaterFire will have six full lightings and two partial lightings. There was supposed to be another partial lighting at Memorial Park Thursday night in celebration of the state’s second annual WaterFire Day, but it was canceled due to inclement weather.

Despite the rain, several local businesses are still donating 10% of their sales Thursday to WaterFire, including Bellini Providence, Moonshine Alley, Insomnia Cookies and Symposium Books. Click here for a full list of participating businesses.

“We are grateful for all our season supporters and looking forward to the 2024 lighting season,” WaterFire’s Ed Cabral said. “This season can only be successful with the support of our donors and sponsors. We are always looking for additional funding to create memorable events that are accessible for all to enjoy.”
