Eddyville home sustains storm damage
BENTON, Ky. — Some isolated storms on Tuesday, May 14, led to damage of several trees and homes in the Pebble Creek Road area of Eddyville, Kentucky. Shane Howard was at work when his wife Kim received a call from their daughter Tuesday evening. She called because a tree had fallen on the house and broken through a portion of the ceiling.

Wohner sentenced to 22 years
Joseph Wohner, who was facing a murder charge, appeared in Marion Circuit Court Division 2 on May 9 and pleaded guilty to an amended charge of first-degree manslaughter. Wohner, 45, was charged with the 2021 murder of Joshua Paul Mudd. He originally was charged with murder, but the Commonwealth agreed to a lesser charge of first-degree manslaughter in exchange for a guilty plea and Judge Kaelin Reed sentenced Wohner to 17 years. He also pleaded guilty to a convicted felon in possession of a handgun, for which he was sentenced to 5 years to run consecutively with the manslaughter charge; convicted felon in possession of a handgun, enhancement cultivation of marijuana 5 or more plants, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and enhancement trafficking in marijuana, less than 8 ounces, first offense, for which he was sentenced to 5 years on each count to run concurrent with his other charges for a total of 22 years.

Sheriff seeking info. about hit-and-run suspect
LYON COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - Authorities are seeking the public’s help for information about the suspect of a hit-and-run on Friday night. According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, a two-vehicle, hit-and-run collision happened on May 10 at around 9:50 p.m. on U.S. 641 at the intersection with White Dorroh Road.
