Arlington Heights unveils 2024 Sounds of Summer Concerts lineup
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - The Village of Arlington Heights announced the lineup for the 2024 Sounds of Summer Concerts this week. From June 6 until Aug. 29 on Thursday evenings, the concert series will take place at Harmony Park. With a total of 12 concerts lined up, attendees can expect a diverse range of musical genres to captivate audiences from 7 to 8:30 p.m. each week.

Extremely rare "blue-eyed" cicada spotted in Chicago suburb
In what could be described as trapping lightning in a bottle, a suburban Chicago family spotted an extremely rare blue-eyed cicada. Greta Wallgren Bailey said that her daughter found it in Wheaton on Monday. She took photos of the unique insect batting its baby blues. The road to a restaurant at the Arrington Park Lagoon, located at 1647 Sheridan Road, has been a long and winding one. In April 2022, the city’s Economic Development Committee gave approval for staff to negotiate a lease with Sandeep Ghaey, formerly of the Vinic Wine Co., to operate a restaurant at the Arrington Lagoon Picnic Shelter building in Dawes Park, as reported in the RoundTable.
Rick Bayless opens new restaurant inside Macy's at Westfield Old Orchard Mall
As new stores at Westfield Old Orchard continue to open, the suburban Skokie mall will also soon welcome a new restaurant by a familiar chef. Fast-casual Mexican restaurant Tortazo, by celebrity chef Rick Bayless, will open at the mall inside Macy's department store this weekend, according to a press release. It will be the restaurant's second Chicago location, with its first located inside the Willis Tower. Another is scheduled to open this summer inside Harrah's Joliet Casino, Tortazo's site said.
