First responders rescue fawn
Coudersport, Pa. — Emergency crews came to the rescue of a fawn stuck in a channel in the Allegheny River Saturday evening. Crews were called to the area of Eulalia Street just after 5:30 p.m. for reports of a fawn in the water and in distress. The Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Association, along with the Coudersport Police Department arrived on scene and pulled the fawn from the water. The animal was evaluated and released back into the nearby woods, officials say. The Coudersport Police Department posted photos of the rescue:
Stick Tights Kicks Off Olean Concert Series
OLEAN, NY — On Thursday evening, Lincoln Park looked as if a magic door had opened, letting out a community that had been hibernating through a Western New York winter and an unusually cold spring, The weather was perfect and the music was delightful as several hundred people turned out to enjoy the first performance in the city’s annual concert series.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER Stick Tights provided the entertainment, playing a wide array of popular songs that included “Get Back,” “Squeeze Box,” “Ooh La La” and many more. Audience members danced, sang and paraded their dogs through the park. One person stepped out of the crowd and played the cowbell while the four-piece band played “Don’t Fear the Reaper.” The concert series will continue on May 30 with an evening of classic rock by Pendleton Station. Olean Will Collect Yard Waste May 29
OLEAN, NY — The city's next curbside pickup of yard waste will be on Wednesday. There is no charge for the service. Rules for pickup include:CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER All yard waste must be in paper lawn bags or containers no larger than 30 gallons. No plastic bags will be accepted. Brush must be bundled together with twine or rope and be no larger than 3 feet in length and 18 inches in diameter. Yard waste must be at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection days. Yard waste collections will take place on the last Wednesday of each month through September. For questions, residents should call the Olean Department of Public Works at 716-376-5650.
