'Person of interest' wanted in homicide of 10-year-old Portsmouth boy

Portsmouth Police have identified a "person of interest" in the case of a 10-year-old boy who was shot and killed on Farragut Street Friday night.

Cleon Deonte Banks, 26, is considered armed and dangerous.

Around 6:15, police were called to a home on Farragut street for a report of a shooting. Officers found the boy who had been shot and attempted life-saving measures.

He died at a local hospital, police said, and his next of kin have been notified.

Another person was arrested on Saturday night in connection to the shooting.

Shawnday Nakisha Ross, 31, is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
