They say variety is the spice of life, and this weekend on the Seacoast that proves to be true. Head over to Salt Pump Climbing Company for their grand opening and give climbing a try. See and learn about baby animals at Strawbery Banke, or cowabunga over to Cisco Brewers for everything Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

West Coast Swing at The Rockingham Ballroom

What: A monthly dance with well-known dance instructor Anne Fleming. Join like-minded dancers from stumblers to showoffs at the area’s largest dance floor. Lessons before each dance.

Juice at 3S Artspace

What: Blending rock, pop, R&B, and hip-hop, Juice embraced the diversity of their signature sound early on. The Brookyln-based band – Ben Stevens, Christian Rose, Kamau Burton, Daniel Moss, Rami El-Abidin, and Miles Clyatt – formed in Boston while attending college.

When: Friday, April 26, 8-11 p.m.

Spose and Rigometrics at The Stone Church

What: Rapper Spose and his band are headed out on a comprehensive tour of his home base, New England, in support of his new album "What Could Go Wrong?" The tour is directly supported by one of New England’s most exciting young bands, the buzzing party-ready classic rock of Rigometrics.

When: Friday, April 26, 9 p.m.

Salt Pump Climbing Co. celebrates its grand opening

What: The festivities will kick off with a Kids Carnival for children and families from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., including climbing and yoga classes and demonstrations, games, and entertainment. An afternoon of "big kid" (adult) climbing and yoga demonstrations will be from 1 to 5 p.m. There will also be classes, games and a taco bar.

Fun with Baby Animals at Strawbery Banke

What: The program is led by a heritage breeder and educator and is designed to give children (geared towards ages 4-8, but all are welcome) an opportunity to meet baby lambs, chicks and other animals up close. Tickets include a breakfast or afternoon snack and admission for up to two accompanying parents or guardians.

When: Saturday, April 27, 9-10 a.m. and 4-5 p.m. and Sunday, April 28, 9-10 a.m.

Where: Strawbery Banke Museum, 14 Hancock St., Portsmouth

Arts at the Airfield

What: Fly, drive or run over to the Hampton Airfield (in North Hampton) for their third annual spring fair! Dine at the Airfield Cafe, watch the busy piper cubs take off, then head to the second floor for the fair. This is an intimate artisan fair where you can take your time appreciating and shopping each artist.

Portsmouth Mini-Con 40 at Cisco Brewers

What: Portsmouth Mini-Con 40 is an intimate boutique celebrity show featuring classic and modern Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles creators and associates. This extremely limited attendance event celebrates the 40th anniversary of the original Portsmouth Mini-Con in 1984, that featured the premiere of Eastman and Laird's beloved characters.

When: Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Open Farm Day at Coppal House Farm

What: Coppal House Farm in Lee is celebrating the start of their 20th year. Open Farm Day promises a delightful experience for all ages, featuring engaging activities such as animal viewing, farm demonstrations, and mouthwatering treats from local food vendors like Stone & Fire Pizza and Larry’s Hawaiian Hut.

Spring Celebration at Throwback Brewery

What: Seacoast Eat Local is hosting a spring celebration at Throwback Brewery. The event features live music, a menu of local food and drink, and activities for all ages.

Orienteering at College Woods

What: Up North Orienteers invites the public to come try orienteering at College Woods in Durham. Orienteering is a sport that involves navigating between points using a map and compass. Think of it as treasure hunting in the woods if you like. It is easy to learn and fun for all ages. Experienced orienteers will be on hand at College Woods, on the campus of UNH, to help newcomers learn the basics and try their first course. You can take part individually or as part of a group – it’s a great activity for family or friends.
