Enjoy Irish music and dance this month
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – We want to tell you about a special musical event coming to two West Michigan locations! The Taste of Ireland is an Irish music and dance performance touring around the world and making two stops in our area. The tour is hot off its Off-Broadway premiere and starting its tour of the United States. They tell us you’ll laugh, cry and jig into the night with a production that they call “Celtic, for this generation.” The tour will come to the Frauenthal Theatre on Friday night and they’re at Miller Auditorium in Kalamazoo on Saturday. The cast features former World Irish dance champions, as well as dancers from the West End’s Lord of the Dance and Riverdance. ‘A Taste of Ireland’ transports the audience through the story of Ireland’s tumultuous history delivered with a pint of Irish wit and it’s a show for all ages.

While science appeals to the mind, art can touch the heart. To make change, we need both. Pastor Jerry Duggins founded the Westminster Art Festival, an annual event at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Portage, to raise awareness of various environmental and ecological issues by reaching the heart and not just the mind. This year’s theme is “Grounded.”
