Lower speed limits coming to some Texas highways as state works to reduce traffic deaths
Prompted by safety concerns, state officials are reducing the speed limits on several highways in Southeast Texas. The Texas Department of Transportation will reduce the speed limit by five to 10 mph on six highways in and around Beaumont and Port Arthur following extensive speed zone studies.
