Hall of Fame creator Clum joins induction fold for Port Clinton

Mike Reynolds, Scott Thomas, Paula Wargo Connors and Carey Clum comprise this year's class for Port Clinton's Athletic Hall of Fame.

Inductees will be recognized October 4 during Port Clinton's home football game against Vermilion. The induction ceremony is October 5 at the Catawba Island Club, with ticket sale information announced at a later date.

Reynolds, who graduated in 1993, earned four varsity letters in wrestling. He finished with a record of 105–37.

He qualified to state three times and was fourth in Division II as a junior. He was third as a senior and Sandusky Bay Conference champ two times.

Thomas, who graduated in 1990, earned four letters for cross country, three for track and two for basketball. He was sixth in the state in Division II in the 1,600 as a junior. He was runner-up in the SBC for cross country as a senior. He averaged 14.0 points as a captain as Port Clinton finished first in the SBC and captured a sectional crown.

Connors, who graduated in 2006, is fourth all-time in program scoring for basketball at 1,270 points. She earned four letters for basketball and two for softball. She was all-state as a junior and first-team all-conference her final two seasons.

Clum served 21 years as the Port Clinton's athletic director, from 1992 until 2013. Clum was inducted into the Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association hall of fame in 2015.

During his tenure, Port Clinton added five varsity sports, providing an average of 80 additional athletes each year with opportunities. Clum was instrumental in creating Port Clinton's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996.
