Trio of New Police Academy Grads Join Mt. Laurel Police Department
MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — The Mount Laurel Police Department (MLPD) welcomed three new officers to their ranks this month following their recent graduation from the Atlantic County Police Academy. Officer Abruzzese, Officer Jeronimo and Officer Farley were part of the Atlantic County Police Academy Class #28 which graduated during a ceremony held at the Atlantic City Convention Center on May 10.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER The graduation marked the Officers’ completion of required training to begin their law enforcement careers. The three officers are now assigned to the MLPD’s patrol division and will begin the Department’s field training program. During their 28-week training at the Police Academy, Officers Abruzzese, Jeronimo and Farley studied disciplines including firearms, vehicle pursuit, hostage negotiation, use of force, advanced crime scene processing and domestic violence prevention. The MLPD said on social media that the Department is “happy to have them as part of the Mount Laurel Police Department family and wish them safety and continued success in their careers." Mays Landing Man Killed in Bicycle-Motor Vehicle Accident
A 61 year old Mays Landing man lost his life Friday night when he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle. Arthur Hertz was struck by a vehicle on the Black Horse Pike in Hamilton Township. The driver of the vehicle is from Blackwood and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Ocean City: Don’t Put Large Trash Cans to the Curb, They Won’t be Collected
Ocean City officials are telling property owners before the holiday weekend not to put out large trash cans because the contractor won’t pick them up. City ordinance requires cans to be no larger than 32 gallons in size, but according to the city’s website, individuals are putting out 96-gallon cans that are not being collected as of June 1st.
