Early morning storms cause Fairfield County school delays, damage in Midlands
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Severe storms moving through the state overnight has caused some trouble Thursday morning. Out of an abundance of caution, Fairfield County School District is on a two-hour delay. Students and staff should report two hours later as there are unconfirmed reports of tornado damage in the Ridgeway area. Trees are down and there have been areas of power outages reported. There was a tornado warning issued for that area earlier this morning.

WLBG radio host dies in early morning crash
Laurens radio icon Randy “Steam” Stevens died this morning in a crash near Whitmire. Stevens was the host of the morning show on WLBG for over 25 years, according to Emil Finley, owner of WLBG. He was also a volunteer for the Patriot Guard Riders and the Laurens County Humane Society.
