Larkspur standoff ends with arrest
A standoff between Ridgecrest Police and a man who they said was suicidal ended peacefully shortly after noon Tuesday. Police were dispatched to Larkspur Street with reports of a suicidal elderly man with a firearm. A roadblock was established to protect civilians while the police encircled the suspect's home with their vehicles. The standoff went on for roughly 20 minutes with police commanding the suspect to drop his weapon until he attempted to aim at the officers.
Students hunkered down at Novato High while police investigated explosive device on campus
April 30, 2024 – Around 11:00 AM, the Novato Police Department responded to Novato High School on a report of a possible explosive device on campus. The school staff acted immediately and moved into a “Shelter in Place” status for the safety of the students, while officers investigated.
