Kids found living in deplorable conditions, parents arrested

MASON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two are facing child neglect charges after kids were found living in deplorable conditions.

On May 21, 2024, an officer was dispatched to 609 21st St in Point Pleasant, Mason County, WV to assist Child Protective Services (CPS) with a welfare check. Upon arrival, the officer witnessed Ronny Fletcher, the father/stepfather of the two children, yelling at CPS worker Angela Towner. After calming Mr. Fletcher down, he allowed both Ms. Towner and the officer inside the residence.

Upon entering, they observed multiple piles of animal feces on the floor along with used dirty diapers on the floor and in the bathroom sink. There was also a slippery residue throughout the whole residence, creating a hazard for slipping.

Additionally, multiple insects were flying in the residence.

Ms. Towner stated that the home posed a risk to the children’s well-being, leading to the removal of the children from the home.

Based on the observed conditions of the residence and Ms. Towner’s statement regarding the home being a health hazard for the children, Ronny and Hannah Fletcher were charged with child neglect with risk of injury.
