A Luzerne County woman caring for two dogs abandoned them on a roadway in freezing temperatures, according to a Humane Society officer. Vanessa Guyer of Plymouth, was charged with animal cruelty and neglect. Guyer allegedly brought the two dogs to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter on March 21 and told staff she found the two dogs in Dallas. Staff informed Guyer that, since she found the dogs in Dallas, she would need to go the Luzerne County SPCA in Plains Twp. A short time later, Lackawanna County Humane Officer Marci Zeiler received a call saying a man almost hit two dogs on Griffin Pond Road. When the shelter contacted Guyer, she said they weren't her dogs and that she found them. She then admitted she dropped the dogs off at the end of the road.
