Illinois students to join Youth Advisory Council
State Sen. Andrew Chesney will bring high school students from across Illinois' 45th District together in Freeport for a Youth Advisory Council meeting Nov. 9. The session will run from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Highland Community College, according to a community announcement. Students who are sophomores, juniors and seniors will discuss public policy, learn about state government and meet elected officials and community leaders. The council also gives students an opportunity to share issues important to their generation, according to the announcement.
