Father Fatally Stabbed With Screwdriver After Fight At Florida Laundromat

Plantation, FL - A father of two was fatally stabbed with a screwdriver at a Plantation laundromat following a confrontation with a group of men who were damaging his truck on Monday.

The victim's brother, speaking anonymously due to safety concerns, identified the victim as a professional painter and floor installer.

Authorities say the family was at the 24-hour Coin Laundry on South State Road 7 on Monday when loud noises erupted in the parking lot as the family was using the facility's machines.

According to reports, several intoxicated men were damaging the victim's pickup truck.

The victim approached the men to intervene but was quickly attacked before he could defend himself, with one suspect fatally stabbing the victim in the back with a screwdriver.

Plantation Police Department spokesperson Officer Chavez Grant confirmed the victim died at the laundromat.

Witnesses present during the attack provided descriptions of the assailants to police.
