PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) β€” Plainfield police say a suspect who turned himself in Sunday after evading a traffic stop in January was found to have multiple active arrest warrants, including one for a felony.

David Rajchel, 23, of Sterling faces the following charges in Plainfield:

    • failure to renew registration
    • operation of a motor vehicle under suspension
    • misuse of plates
    • operating a motor vehicle without insurance
    • engaging police in a pursuit
    • reckless driving
    • theft of plates

In Plainfield, his charges stem from Jan. 27, when an officer attempted to stop a black Chevrolet Silverado that was displaying a misused license plate and the vehicle instead accelerated away from the officer.

Police determined that Rajchel was the driver in that incident and that he had a suspended license and a stolen license plate. An arrest warrant was granted by the Connecticut Superior Court in Danielson.

Police said Rajchel turned himself in to Connecticut State Police around 9 a.m. Sunday.

When booked, it was also found that Rajchel held two PRAWN arrest warrants for second-degree failure to appear and an extraditable felony warrant for child endangerment out of Rhode Island.

Rajchel was held on a combined $137,500 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned at GA 11 on April 30.
