Free fishing derby for youth under 14 in Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP)– Youth aged 14 and under are invited to participated in a free fishing derby in Pittsfield.

The City of Pittsfield Conservation Commission is partnering with Lyon Aviation to sponsor the event. The Onota Fishing Club will be helping youngsters by teaching them fishing tips, baiting, dressing fish and other fishing techniques. Bait will be provided. Trophies will be awarded to those who catch the largest fish.

The first 100 children will receive a free food voucher.

The event takes place on Saturday, May 11 from 8am to 12:30pm at the Wild Acres Conservation Area located off of South Mountain Road in Pittsfield.
