Man charged after video shows him attacking Sheriff's Deputy

UPDATE : After consulting with the District Attorney's office, it was determined that Kelly will face ONE COUNT of aggravated assault against a police officer.

A man accused of assaulting an Allegheny County Sheriff’s Deputy Thursday, is under arrest.

Sheriff Kevin Kraus’ office has charged 65-year-old Tyrone Kelly with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, one county of resisting arrest and one count of disorderly conduct.

Kelly was reported missing last weekend was located safe.

It was reported at the time that Kelly suffers from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Video shows Kelly attacking one of two sheriff’s deputies on Grant Street in Downtown Pittsburgh on Thursday.

Kelly attempted to punch one deputy several times before he was forced to the ground.

The sheriff’s office say the deputy involved in the scuffle did not suffer any “significant injuries.”
