    Pitt State Softball wins MIAA Championship

    For the first time since 1994 the Gorillas win a conference title

    PITTSBURG, Kan. - Pitt State Softball sweeps Central Oklahoma to claim their first conference championship since 1994. The Gorillas win Game 1, 10-2. Then Pitt State wins Game 2, 5-2.

    With both victories the Gorillas finish the regular season with a 49-5 regular season record.

    The Gorillas break multiple records on Saturday. With Pitt State Softball’s 49th win, that sets a new program record for most wins in a season. In the first game of the doubleheader, Pitt State head coach, Jenny Fuller, won he 100th career game as the coach of the program.

    "A lot of hard work has gone into getting where we're at," says Fuller, "it just feels surreal. I'm just so proud of our players that bought in and trusted us. Really they're the ones that ultimately got us here, so I'm just so proud of them."
