GREENCASTLE, Ind. — Deputies arrested a Greencastle man for child exploitation. The Boone County Child Abuse & Sexual Exploitation Task Force got a tip May 7 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a post on X depicted a child engaged in sexual activity with an adult, later identified as Bruce A. Campbell.
Hoosier Lottery: Winning Powerball ticket purchased in Noblesville
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — Hoosiers who recently bought a Powerball ticket in Noblesville should check their ticket. A $50,000 winning Powerball ticket was sold at an AJ Quick Mart location in Noblesville after Wednesday’s drawing, according to a news release from the Hoosier Lottery. The ticket matched four out of five numbers, as well as the Powerball, in Wednesday’s drawing.
Man sentenced to 45 years in Indiana Department of Correction for 2022 Indy murder
INDIANAPOLIS — A man charged in a 2022 robbery that resulted in the death of a 31-year-old man was sentenced to 45 years in the Indiana Department of Correction on Friday. Stephen Cartwright, 44, of Warsaw, Indiana pleaded guilty in April to the murder of Medhat Saad. Indianapolis police found Saad with gunshot wounds at a home in the northwest side of the city.
Joseph Newgarden receives final Indy 500 winner’s quilt
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Ahead of Fast Friday, last year’s Indy 500 winner, Josef Newgarden, was presented with his winner’s quilt at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was a bittersweet moment because the woman who made the quilt, Jeanetta “The Quilt Lady” Holder, passed away in December.
Rain chances lower entering the weekend; Warmest temperatures of the year soon
There will be some lingering showers just after sunset Friday, but chances of any real organized rainfall will be placed on hold as temperatures rise. We opened the work week with over one-inch rainfall deficit but after the soaking rain Tuesday and Wednesday, the additional rainfall early Friday, we now have a surplus of one-inch for the month of May. The week produced 2.83″ of rain officially for the city of Indianapolis. Four-day totals were in excess of 5″ in some locations.
17-year-old boy arrested after leading Indiana State Police troopers on 100+ mph chase, ramming squad car head-on
INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana State Police arrested a 17-year-old boy after he allegedly led police on a chase, reaching speeds of 115 mph before crashing and fleeing on foot. According to recently-filed court documents, around 11:30 p.m. on May 13, an ISP trooper stopped at a red light at the intersection of East 38th Street and Shadeland Avenue on the east side of Indianapolis and saw a white Chevrolet Impala with a headlight out on the driver's side.
