Round Rock Opens Wyoming Springs Drive Extension, New I-35 Escape Route
Round Rock drivers on the west side have a new way to get around without fighting I-35 traffic. The Wyoming Springs Drive extension opened to the public on Thursday, giving commuters a four-lane divided roadway that connects Creek Bend Boulevard to East Old Settlers Boulevard, complete with a new crossing over Brushy Creek.

ICE Bus Staged at Private Austin Lot Without Owner's OK, DHS Says It Won't Slow Down
An apparent Immigrations and Customs Enforcement transport bus sat parked Wednesday in a vacant, secluded lot at a northeast Austin business park, where at least one man arrived by SUV in handcuffs and shackles before being led aboard to join other men already seated inside. Protesters gathered at the scene, and the property owner later said it never gave ICE permission to use the site. The staging came as federal arrest numbers across the Austin area have climbed to their highest levels in nearly four years.

Southeast Austin's JD's Supermarket Fears Light Rail Could Force It to Close

JD's Supermarket, a Hispanic and Mediterranean grocery store at the corner of Montopolis Drive and East Riverside Drive, says Austin's light rail plans could put its future at risk. Store representatives and community leaders gathered outside the store on October 9 to call on the Austin Transit Partnership to reconsider an eminent domain proceeding that could affect part of the property, according to the Austin Chronicle.
