Golf House opens in Pinehurst

PINEHURST — The United States Golf Association is set to open its new Golf House this weekend.

The new Golf House features a two-story building with the lower level showcasing several USGA exhibits: the Orientation gallery; the Science of Golf gallery; the Championships gallery; Golftown U.S.A.: Pinehurst’s History in 50 Moments; and both a USGA and World Golf Hall of Fame gift shop.

The exhibits in the downstairs galleries feature interactive screens and a wide range of information on the history and future of golf.

Upstairs houses the newly imagined golf locker room, featuring the 164 current Hall of Fame members with notable names such as Arnold Palmer, Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Annika Sorenstam.

Along with professional legends of the game, you will also find other non-professionals such as presidents, actors, celebrities and individuals who have had an impact on the game of golf throughout its history.

The new upstairs Hall of Fame features locker room-style displays with artifacts and memorabilia housed within each inductee’s locker.

The grand opening for the new Golf House will officially celebrate its grand opening on May 10 from 1-5 p.m. and on May 11-12 from 10 a.m to 5 pm.

The grand opening is free and open to the public.
