Shane Cherry led Mercer with 21 points off the bench in his team debut, a statline which included a trio of 3-pointers. Cherry comes to Mercer after playing at Tallahassee State and averaging more than 19 points per game last season. Derek Goodman followed with 18 points, while KJ Lamonte had 14. This was the first time in over 10 years that the Bears faced the Eagles. They last played each other in November 2013.
