Paragould All-State forward Mikayla Lambert signs with UT Martin women’s basketball
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Another Fast Break Friday Night standout earns a D1 opportunity. Paragould All-State forward Mikayla Lambert signed with UT-Martin women’s basketball on Wednesday. She originally committed to D2 program Illinois-Springfield in January, but re-opened her recruitment after a coaching change. Lambert missed the 2023-24 season due to injury. She earned 5A All-State and 5A All-Conference accolades for the Lady Rams in the 2022-23 season.
5 arrested, including juvenile, in deadly Arkansas shooting, police say
BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. - An Arkansas shooting that left a teen dead led to 5 people, including a juvenile, being arrested. The Blytheville Police Department went to a shooting in April near the 100 Block of S Division Street. When officers got to the scene, they found 18-year-old Kohnali Hunt shot. He was sent to the hospital due to his injuries, but later died, police said.

PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) - A Paragould man faces a felony charge after police said he threatened to “shoot up a school” if someone beat him at a video game. Greene County District Judge Daniel Stidham found probable cause Thursday, May 9, to charge 21-year-old Joshua Lawrence with one count of threatening to commit an act of mass violence on school property.
