PICKENS, S.C. (WSPA) – A couple is accused of stealing over 50 pounds of steak and shrimp from an Upstate grocery store.

According to the Pickens Police Department, officers received a call about a shoplifting where a man and woman were stealing food on March 19.

When the officers arrived at Ingles on Ann Street, they caught the couple “meat-handed.”

The police chief said the couple had 24 packs of steak, 60 bags of shrimp and 10 bags of beef jerky right, which total $2,000 worth of meat. They also seized a gun.

Officers arrested the woman, Stefanie Kay Brown, 40, of Greenville. She has been charged with shoplifting enhancement.

Officers did not arrest the man but the police chief said charges may be forthcoming for him.
