Police: Man, two juveniles found with ‘several firearms’ in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A man has been arrested and two juveniles have charges pending after police say the three of them fled the scene of a disturbance and were later found with “several firearms.”

According to the Petersburg Bureau of Police, its officers responded to the 1100 block of W. Washington Street just before 1 a.m. on Monday, April 22, for report of a disturbance.

When they arrived at the scene, the officers reportedly saw two people running away on foot. According to police, they then got into a car and left the area.

That car was later found in the area of Ferndale Avenue and Elm Street, according to police, who reportedly found multiple guns within the vehicle.

The driver of the car, Lionell Myers, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a concealed weapon and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

According to police, weapons-related charges are pending for both involved juveniles. At this time, those juveniles are in the custody of their parents.
