26-year-old man charged in connection to armed robbery in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A 26-year-old man is facing charges following an armed robbery on West Washington Street in Petersburg.

On Saturday, March 23, officers with the Petersburg Bureau of Police received a report of an armed robbery that occurred in the 100 block of West Washington Street.

Officers in the area who were searching for a possible suspect came in contact with 26-year-old Malcom Alexander, who was identified as the suspect in connection to the robbery, and was then arrested.

The Petersburg Bureau of Police released the following image of a gun that was allegedly used in connection to the armed robbery.

Police said Alexander was charged with armed robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
