Weekend Roundup: Top golfers shine
Gilland and Jeffery shine for Athenians and Chargers. Crawfordsville and North Montgomery boys golf competed at the Covington Invite on Saturday. The Chargers came in as the defending champions and while they didn’t defend their title, they still had a strong showing with a 3rd place finish by shooting a 361. Neal Jeffery had the best outing of his season so far with a 76 to lead the way. Rohen Barnes and Alex Chapman both shot 97’s.

Illinois Valley Central came tearing into Monday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Princeton Tigers. For Illinois Valley Central, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 loss Princeton walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2018.
