FBI joins investigation into stolen paintings
TAOS, N.M. — The FBI is taking on the investigation of two stolen paintings that happened nearly 40 years ago in Taos. In 2017, David Van Auker, owner of an antique shop in Silver City, was sent to a house in Cliff, New Mexico, to check out the estate of Jerry and Rita Alter. As Van Auker and his two partners went around the house, they noticed something in one of the rooms.
